We collected the ruru ring and silver fern earrings from Aaron yesterday. I am not a “bling” jewellery person so these pieces appeal to me immensely. I am delighted with both items. The ring has buffed up beautifully on the raised points and is eye catching when wearing. I have already received comments about them. Aaron was happy to talk about his work and processes he uses. We really enjoyed visiting his workshop and learning how and what he produced. I already have a second ring in my sights and looking forward to the fantail earrings when they are designed. I feel it is special wearing jewellery that is hand made and I have met the maker. Thanks Aaron.

Was recommended to Aaron’s work via my partners daughter who is an artist. The whole process of buying a surprise gift was easy and Aaron communicated every step of the way helping me with sizing etc. Was very comfortable dealing with Aaron. When the ring arrived ahead of expectations it was even better than the image online. My partner, who is an owl aficionado of several decades, having a modest collection of well chosen pieces. He was wrapt with the ring to have something that he can have ever present with him and admire the fine configuring and the subtle patina which shows it’s detail to splendid effect against the vegetative background. I’ve never done a testimonial before but i’m more than happy to write one for Aaron Brown from “A Carved Piece”.
His work is beautiful and my husband and I have felt so since we first saw a piece of his work.
Since then we have commissioned a few different pieces from Aaron and each piece is beautifully crafted and exactly what we wanted.
Aaron is so easy to work with, he asks what you want, sends updates to make sure he’s on the right track, which makes you feel really important and that he’s truly listening to what you want.
Like I said we have commissioned a number of pieces from Aaron, from very detailed Greenstone Huia birds, Male and a Female ( the envy of any who see them)….2x greenstone Toki for my twin grandsons, the same but different, just like they are……we have even purchased two Huia Bird silver rings….ooo I nearly forgot, he made my greenstone Kereru earrings too
And to top it all off Aaron has even done repairs for us on pieces that he didn’t even do….This man is a magician as far as I’m concerned LOVE LOVE LOVE this mans work
To anyone considering commissioning work from Aaron, I say DO IT….you will not be disappointed.

I LOVE my ring. I’m naked without it. I thought that it was risky as the tail is raised, although I have found that it’s not caught on clothing or family. I’m now considering purchasing a second one (the one with two fantails) for my other hand 🙂

I absolutely love my silver Huia ring created by Aaron. The intricate detail and craftsmanship is incredible. The raised highlights contrast beautifully on the dark patina, giving lovely depth to this sculptural piece. The highlights are also subtly, continually polished while wearing it. The ring band itself is only 7mm wide underneath, which makes it very comfortable and practical for everyday wear. It really is a wonderful treasure.
